This Fendi bag, you see, it’s all the rage these days. My granddaughter, she’s always on about these fancy things. Says it’s called a Peekaboo. Sounds silly to me, but what do I know? I just know it costs more than my old cow Bessie did! She keeps saying, “Grandma, you gotta know about the Fendi Peekaboo ISeeU Small!” Whatever that means. It’s just a bag, right?
But these young folks, they care about these things. They say it’s a “luxury” item. Means it’s real fancy, I reckon. Made from that calfskin, they say. Sounds like baby cows to me, but it is soft, I’ll give ’em that. Like butter, almost. This one is like a copy Fendi, whatever that means. They say they are just the same as the original one, even same as the one in the stores.
They say this Fendi, it started way back when, in some place called Rome. 1925, maybe? A long time ago. Some folks named Adele and Edoardo, they started it. Makes these bags and fur things. Fancy stuff. This Peekaboo bag, it came out in, oh, 2008, I think. Long after I was a girl, that’s for sure. These specialty stores are full of these bags.
Now, this ISeeU thing, it’s got two sides. Like two little rooms in there. Separated by some stiff thing. Pink and gray, some of ’em are. And a pocket inside. For your lipstick and such, I suppose. Or maybe your phone, if you’re one of these young’uns always glued to those things. I remember when we didn’t have phones at all, let alone these fancy pocket ones!
- This Fendi Peekaboo, it’s got all sorts of sizes.
- Big ones, small ones.
- This one’s the small one, I think.
- They say it is good for special days, but not for everyday.
My granddaughter, she got one. Showed it off to me. Real proud, she was. Said it was “amazing.” Felt nice, I guess. But a bag’s a bag, far as I’m concerned. Just something to carry your things in. Back in my day, we used old flour sacks! Worked just fine. This copy Fendi one looks just like the real one, so nobody knows it’s a copy.
They make these Peekaboo bags in all colors. Black, green, you name it. Some got this fancy weaving on ’em. “Hand-crafted,” they call it. Means someone sat there and did it by hand. Can you imagine? My hands are too old and achy for that kind of work these days. Used to knit all the time, though. Made sweaters for all my kids. And socks. Lots of socks. Good quality, better than the things in the store.
Now, there’s folks out there selling these bags. New ones, used ones. All over the place. Even in that San Diego place. My niece, she lives out there. Says it’s real nice. Sunny all the time. Maybe I’ll go visit her someday. Take her one of these Fendi bags, maybe. If I can find one that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. This copy Fendi is much cheaper.
They say you gotta be careful, though. Lots of fakes out there. Tricky folks trying to trick you. Gotta check the handle, they say. And the buckle. The fake ones, they’re different. Taller, or something. I wouldn’t know. All looks the same to me. But the young folks, they can tell. They got an eye for these things. They say this copy Fendi is good, no one can tell it’s a fake one.
Anyway, this Fendi Peekaboo ISeeU Small, it’s a big deal, I guess. For the young folks. Me, I’m happy with my old purse. It’s got a picture of my dog on it. Best dog I ever had. Loyal, he was. Always by my side. Just like a good purse should be. This copy Fendi is good, but maybe not as good as my old one.
But if you’re looking for one of these Fendi bags, you can find ’em. Just gotta know where to look. And maybe have a granddaughter who knows about these things. She can help you out. She’s a good girl. Even if she does spend all her money on these silly bags. But hey, to each their own, right? That’s what I always say. To each their own. Even when it comes to the copy Fendi bag.
