Okay, so, I’ve been wanting to get this Yves Saint Laurent LE CARRÉ SATCHEL BAG for like, forever. It’s just so classic, you know? It’s not one of those trendy things that’ll be out of style next year. Anyway, I finally decided to take the plunge and, well, remake it. Yeah, I didn’t buy the real one, I made a copy.
I started by looking at a ton of pictures online. I mean, a LOT. I wanted to get every little detail just right. I went to the official online store, looking at their “BLACK LE CARR satchel in BOX SAINT LAURENT” I wanted to make a version of it, I mean, that’s cool.
Then I had to find the right materials. This was tricky, but it is fun. I spent hours in fabric stores, feeling up different leathers, trying to find something that felt as good as the real YSL leather. It’s a good investment, so I tried to find something close.
- First, I made a pattern. I sketched out all the different pieces of the bag, making sure I had the measurements just right. This part took a while because I kept messing up and having to start over.
- Next, I cut out the leather. This was kind of nerve-wracking, to be honest. I didn’t want to mess up the expensive leather I bought! But I took it slow and managed to get all the pieces cut out perfectly.
- Then came the sewing. Oh boy, the sewing. This was definitely the hardest part. I’m not exactly a pro with a sewing machine, but I figured it out eventually. There were a lot of seams to sew, and I had to make sure everything was lined up perfectly.
- Finally, I added the hardware. The buckle, the strap, all that stuff. This was actually kind of fun because it really made the bag start to look like a real YSL.
It took me a few weeks, working on it here and there in my spare time. And you know what? It turned out pretty darn good! I mean, it’s not perfect, but I’m really proud of it. It looks a lot like the real thing, and it feels pretty good too. I even took my time to add those small details.
So, why did I go through all this trouble instead of just buying the real thing? Well, it was fun, and I learned a lot. It’s a good experience. Now I can say I made my own YSL bag.
This bag, my homemade YSL LE CARRÉ SATCHEL, it’s like a piece of art, hand-made, by me. It means more to me than if I had just bought it.
Anyway, that’s my little story about remaking the Yves Saint Laurent LE CARRÉ SATCHEL BAG. Hope you enjoyed it!
