Okay, so I wanted to share my latest project – I tried to make a copy of the Fendi Vitello King F is Fendi Logo Embossed Mini Mon Tresor Bucket Bag, you know, the Cuoio one they have on their official site.
First off, I spent hours online looking at pictures of the bag. I went to all sorts of websites and forums, even some shady ones, just to get a good look at every angle of the bag. I wanted to make sure I had a clear idea of its design, its size, and how it was made.
Then I started looking for materials. I needed some good quality leather, the right kind of hardware, and the perfect thread. I went to some local shops, browsed some online stores, and I ended up ordering a bunch of samples. I even got some swatches of leather to make sure I had the right color and texture.
The actual crafting part was tricky. I had to cut the leather pieces very carefully. I used a ruler and an exacto knife and went really slowly to make sure everything was the right size. It was super time-consuming, and I messed up a few times.
Next was the stitching. I used a sewing machine for the main parts. But for the detailed parts and the logo embossing, I had to do it by hand. It was not easy, My hands were pretty sore after that. I tried to find some patterns online, but they were all paid or not detailed enough. So I basically winged it.
- The leather cutting took forever!
- Hand stitching was a real pain.
- Getting the Fendi logo right was the hardest part.
The logo was a real pain. I tried a few different methods, but it was hard to get it to look right. I eventually managed to get it looking decent. It is not perfect, but it is close enough for me.
After everything was put together, I looked at the final product. It did not look exactly like the real Fendi bag, but it was a pretty good attempt. I was pretty proud of myself, to be honest. It’s kinda like when you order something online, and it looks a bit different in person, but you still like it.
Learned a Lot
This project taught me a lot about leatherworking, and the amount of work that goes into making a high-end bag. It is definitely not as easy as it looks. I also learned that I am not very good at hand stitching, but hey, practice makes perfect. I even found some free knitting patterns online while I was searching for bag stuff. Maybe I’ll try knitting next, who knows!
Anyway, that is my story about trying to copy a Fendi bag. Hope you guys find it interesting. It was a fun, but very frustrating, experience!
