Okay, so, I’ve been wanting to remake that Prada Galleria Saffiano Leather Mini-Bag for a while now. I mean, who hasn’t? It’s like, the bag everyone’s talking about. It’s just so classy with that cool crosshatch pattern.
So I finally did it. I started digging around, trying to figure out how this thing is put together. Turns out, this little bag is made of 83 separate pieces. 83! Can you believe it?
First, I studied the original bag from their official flagship store. I took tons of pictures, trying to get every angle, every stitch. Then, I sketched out each piece, making notes about the size, the shape, everything. It was like solving a puzzle.
Next, I started cutting. I used this faux leather stuff that kinda looks like the real deal, you know, the Saffiano texture. Cutting out all 83 pieces took forever, and my hands were cramping like crazy. But I kept going, playing my favorite tunes, getting into the zone.
- Piece 1, 2, 3… Cut the main body parts.
- Piece 20, 21, 22… Cut the little details, like the triangle logo, zipper pulls.
- Piece 80, 81, 82, 83… Finally got to the last few, the straps, the tiny connectors.
Once all the pieces were cut, I started sewing. I don’t have one of those fancy industrial machines, just my grandma’s old sewing machine. It was slow going, but I took my time, making sure each stitch was straight, secure.
Putting it all together was the trickiest part. It’s like, you’ve got all these flat pieces, and suddenly, they need to become a 3D bag. I followed my sketches, pinning, sewing, adjusting. Some parts I had to redo a couple of times because they just didn’t look right.
Finally, after days of work, it was done. My own version of the Prada Galleria Saffiano Leather Mini-Bag. It’s not perfect, of course. There are some wobbly stitches, some parts are a bit wonky. But you know what? I made it. With my own two hands.
And let me tell you, carrying that bag around, knowing I made it from scratch, it’s a pretty cool feeling. I made a ton of mistakes, but learned a whole lot along the way. That was a long story of how I remade the bag.
What do you guys think?
Let me know if you have ever done anything like this. I’d love to hear about it!
